The Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) has received a torrent of commendation over its support of a hundred thousand naira and dignity packs to each Nigerian returnee from Sudan.
Spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) Ezekiel Manzo said the “assistance by the Aliko Dangote Foundation was a pleasant surprise because of the huge amount involved. It is not surprising however because the Aliko Dangote Foundation is known for its Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR).”
According to Mr. Manzo, the Dangote’s generosity attested to the brotherly nature of Nigerians, and how the country can move forward through Public Private Partnership (PPP).
Similarly, the spokesman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission(NIDCOM), Abdulrahman Balogun said the Nigerian people and government appreciates the philanthropic gestures of the Aliko Dangote Foundation.
Meanwhile, the Perm SEC, Humanitarian Affairs Dr. Sani Gwarzo has described the intervention of the Aliko Dangote Foundation, to hundreds of evacuated Nigerians from Sudan as a life-saving gesture.
Speaking at a press briefing at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, Gwarzo said ADF’s assistance is valuable, timely but most importantly life-saving
“The One hundred thousand Naira each to the hundreds of evacuated Nigerians and care packs handed to them on arrival is a great help
Apart from meeting their immediate needs, they are able to travel to their home states to reunite with their loved ones
“We are indeed grateful to Aliko Dangote,” he said.
It will be recalled that Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) commenced the disbursement of hundred thousand naira (N100,000) and Dignity Packs to each of the Nigerian returnees from war-torn Sudan a few days ago.
The Managing Director of the Foundation, Zouera Yousooufou said the Foundation is desirous of alleviating the sufferings of the thousands of evacuees stranded in Sudan.
Represented by Maryam Shehu-Buhari, she said the ADF will not rest on its oars until all Nigerians return from Sudan.
ADF’s intervention is in collaborating with the Federal Government through its agency, the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), and some airlines in the Country.
One of the returnees and a beneficiary of the ADF’s donation, Mr. Yusuf Bulama, said: “First and foremost, I want to thank Allah for bringing us back home safely. Second, I want to thank Alhaji Aliko Dangote for this huge intervention through the Aliko Dangote Foundation. My message to Dangote is to pray that Allah continues to help him and support his numerous businesses.”
Another beneficiary of the ADF’s donation, Miss Muneerah Abdul expressed appreciation while adding that N100, 000.00 for each student was a huge sum.
She prayed Allah to continue to bless Alhaji Aliko Dangote.
