Our attention has been drawn to a disjointed write up authored by an unknown person and published in an online blog usually deployed by the major opposition from their Abuja office orchestrated to blackmail the person and office of the Honourable Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole and to raise false alarm to cause unnecessary tension within the community and curry  sympathy from the unsuspected reading public.
We would not have bothered to dignify the writer with a response but reacting is imperative to keep the reading public abreast of their frustration because they have seen the handwriting on the wall that their party, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) can’t be taken serious again, hence their resort to blackmail and unnecessary alarm raising to cause tension by spreading such fake news.
Rt Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole has been winning elections without intimidation, harassment or any form of violence even when the powers that be were against him in 2015. Any claim of planned arrest is only in the warped imagination of the purveyors of such falsehood.
What the major opposition is doing now is nothing but crying wolf; which is their style and strategy during any elections when they held sway as rulers.
Since it is in their character to harass and intimidate voters during elections, how would they not think the APC will follow the same path but that notwithstanding anyone that run foul of the law will face the music and it is hoped  the blames will not be shifted then.
Instead of the major opposition party to intensify more efforts on their campaigns the way the ruling party is on the field campaigning from house to house, ward to ward, Local Government to Local Government and from one Senatorial district to another telling Kogites what we will do more, they continue to raise false alarm.
We believe those were alleged  to have been penciled down for such arrest are people that should know and understand the workings of the law.
The major opposition party should leave all the cheap lies by telling kogites what they have in stock for the people despite the fact that their antecedents do not speak well of them.
We urge the electorate not only in Kabba/Bunu but the entire state to come out en masse on  November 16 to vote for APC/GYB/CEDO, Governorship and for Kogi West Senatorial District to vote APC/Senator Smart Adeyemi CON.
Signed:
Femi Olugbemi,
Chief Press Secretary to the Honourable Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly
