A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress in Lokoja, Mudashiru Inuwa has accused a top ranking Senator from Kogi State of plots to scuttle the forthcoming primaries in the State.
According to information made available to Newsmen, the APC Chieftain accused the Senator of scheming at the National Secretariat of the party, said the Senator allegedly met with the National Chairman and secured his support on some issues
He alleged that the Senator is plotting to compile his own list of delegates for input into the data base.
He accused the Senator of plotting to influence the appointments of the screening committee so as to screen out those loyal to the Gov. Yahaya Bello.
The APC Chieftain accused the Senator of planning to compile a list of Lokoja/Koto delegates, pointed out that the Senator is working with the National Secretariat alongside a House of Assembly serving member from Lokoja who is also aspiring to the House of Representatives, a former Commissioner and Lawmaker, from Kogi LGA who is also eyeing the House of Representatives to be cleared by the Screening Committee.
For Kabba/Bunu /Ijumu and Yagba Federal Constituencies, the APC Chieftain accused the Senator of plots to have Hon. Segun Olobatoke, and Hon. Folorunsho Olafemi cleared to contest the election by the committee.
The APC Chieftain further accused the Senator of plots to have only himself cleared For Kogi West Senate, alleging that the Senator met with all anti-GYB elements in the NWC.
The plan the APC Chieftain disclosed is the intention for the Senator to take control of the panel that would conduct the primaries by delaying them in Abuja only to come and do a kangaroo primary which will be upheld by the Chairman.
The intention he maintained is to enable the Senator take control of the structure of the APC off the Governor for his governorship ambition expected to come up later in 2023.
The APC Chieftain warn that any attempt to scuttle the party‘s primaries, would be resisted, pointing out that the APC National must distance itself from the satanic plots of the serving Senator.
