
Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sunday Steve Karimi, has expressed appreciation to the leadership and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following his emergence as the party’s senatorial candidate for the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Monday after the Senatorial primary result, Karimi described his victory at the recently concluded APC senatorial primary election as a great honour and responsibility entrusted to him by the people of Kogi West.
The senator thanked Almighty God, party leaders, stakeholders and supporters across the district for the confidence reposed in him, noting that the outcome of the primary reflected the unity and collective commitment of the APC towards the development of Kogi West Senatorial District.
Karimi specially commended Kogi State Governor, Ahmed Usman Ododo, for providing what he described as exemplary leadership and ensuring a free and fair electoral process during the primary election.
He also appreciated former Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, for his continued support and dedication to the ideals of the APC in the state.
The lawmaker further extended gratitude to the national and state leadership of the APC, the State Executive Committee, State Working Committee, party stakeholders, delegates, ward leaders, women and youth groups, as well as party faithful across Kogi West for their overwhelming support during the exercise.
Karimi also praised his co-aspirants for demonstrating maturity and sportsmanship throughout the primary process, stressing that all members remained united in the interest of the party and the progress of the district.
“As we move towards the 2027 general elections, I humbly solicit the continued support, prayers and cooperation of all party faithful,” he stated.
He urged APC members and supporters in Kogi West to remain united and committed to building a stronger and more prosperous future for the district and Kogi State at large.
