The Progressives APC Kogi Youth Caucus has watched with concern a video making the rounds, in which an individual, self-styled as a youth leader, sought to raise alarm over an alleged attempt to cause disunity within the Kogi State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Ordinarily, we would not dignify such theatrics with a response. However, silence in the face of distortion may be mistaken for consent.
Let it be clearly stated that the Progressives APC Kogi Youth Caucus is neither a party to that briefing nor a subscriber to its narrative. The commentary in the said video is personal, speculative, and regrettably divorced from verifiable facts.
It is ironi if not contradictory that accusations of disunity are being advanced through a medium and tone more likely to inflame passions than foster harmony. Unity is not preserved by public finger-pointing; it is built through sincerity, structure, and respect for truth.
Senator Sunday Steve Karimi needs no introduction within the APC. His political trajectory, legislative focus, and party fidelity speak louder than conjecture and selective outrage. To portray him as a destabilizing force is to misunderstand or deliberately misrepresent both his role and his record.
The APC in Kogi State is not as fragile as some would have the public believe, nor is it sustained by press briefings masquerading as moral warnings. Our party’s strength lies in dialogue, internal mechanisms, and collective responsibility not media trials.
As a youth caucus committed to progress, we urge our peers to resist the temptation of performative politics. The youth wing should be a bridge, not a battleground; a solution desk, not a megaphone for discord.
We reaffirm our confidence in Senator Sunday Karimi as a key stakeholder in the APC project and call on all party members to place unity above ego, facts above fiction, and party interest above personal posturing.
Signed:
Progressives APC Kogi Youth Caucus
