An aide to the Kogi state Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello and the Chairman of Kogi state forum of Senior Special Assistants to the Governor on security, Alhaji Taofeeq Isah has denied being arrested in connection with the robbery incident in Isanlu three weeks ago
Isah who spoke to inquisitive journalists who wanted to know if the rumours doing round that some of those arrested in connection with the robbery incident mentioned him as one of their sponsors said there was no iota of truth in the insinuation.
He attributed the rumours to his political adversaries who are bent on scuttling his political ambition of seeking a return as the Chairman of Ijumu local government area in the state.
“The rumour does not come to me as a surprise considering the period we are in and my desire to return as the Chairman of Ijumu local government area where I served as the sole administrator in the last four years”
Also, Isah in a statement he personally signed reads:
“It was just brought to my notice on an ongoing rumour by one Adejoh Hamza that I was arrested by the Nigerian Police Force Headquarters in connection with the deadly Isanlu robbery attack some weeks back.
I want to state categorically that I was not arrested and I did not supply arms and ammunition to any one or group.
The Nigerian police force in collaboration with the Kogi State government is working tirelessly to apprehend the suspects, no amount of blackmailing will withdraw the strength of the government and police force from fishing out the criminals.
I want to urge my supporters, well wishers and the general public to remain calm, disregard such rumours as it is an imaginary and calculated thinking of mischief makers who are hell bent in bringing me down.
While this allegations may have been on some social media platforms, It is totally untrue.
According to him,”The writer is a pathological liar who is an enemy of Okunland. The Executive Governor of Kogi State has given a directive to the Senior Special Assistants on Security from Kogi West Senatorial district to fish out the perpetrators, and with the cooperation of the security agencies,we are on top of the situation.
