The Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello will on Thursday officially name the Liason officers for the 21 local government councils just as he is expected to formally swear-in Mr. Mamman Eri as the news chairman of the State Independent National Electoral Commission (SIEC) and other members of the commission.
According to the information reaching our reporter, governor Bello would have inaugurated the new SIEC on Wednesday but later decided to shift it till Thursday.
According to the source, effort has been put in place by the governor to make sure that he release the name and then inaugurate them on Friday to avoid lacuna in councils.
The Liason officers would be expected to work with the Directors of Local Government to ensure a hitch free local government Council election.
Those that may likely make the list include the former Administrator of Mopamuro LGA, Hon. Moses Sunday, in Yagba West, Tade Oshaloto, Wokili Sule, Yagba East and Ariyo Adebayo Kemuna Kabba/ Bunu LGA.
However, some top politicians from Ijumu may likely denis Hon. Taofiq Isah of getting the mandate.
Tijani Ebaya Shaidu for Lokoja LGA, while Isah Abdulkareem (Ecomog) is been pushed by some powerful forces in Kogi LGA.
The Central Senatorial District is likely to see a complete new list of liason officers from the former Administrators as the stakeholders, particularly those of Adavi, Okehi, Okene and Ajaokuta by virtue of the rotation arrangement existing in the area may have their way, making the former to have completely lost out in the new arrangement.
The former administrator of Ogori, Goke Oparison is finding it difficult as forces are against him.
In Bassa, Muktar Shaibu all things being equal would head the team, inspite the frantic efforts former Administrator, Samuel Alumka is putting up. Ishaq Okolo would head Dekina, with Ankpa, Ofu, Igalamela Odolu, Ibaji lost completely by the former Administrators. Idah Abdul Odoma
In Omala Emmanuel Ibrahim aka complete may likely get it.
There are speculations that the power brokers at the top wants to settle for a major contender in Omala, Hon Matthew Ochada, who has so far ganered massive support of his people
