A former governorship aspirant on the platform of the All Progressives Congress, (APC), in the just concluded primary of the party in Kogi state, Adebanji David Jimoh, has commended Governor Yahaya Bello on the establishment of a State University in Okunland.

In a letter of commendation address to the governor, Jimoh noted that this is yet a fulfillment of another electioneering campaign promises he made during his campaign to the people of Okunland.

“I want to sincerely thank His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello, the Executive Governor of Kogi State for fulfilling yet, another of the electoral promises, he made during his campaign to the people of Okunland.

“Among the electoral promises was his resolve to build a university in Okunland. In line with that, recently Governor Yahaya Bello made good on his promise by officially pronouncing the eagerness of the state government to commence the processes of the establishment.

“Having known the governor to be a thoroughbred politician and a leader who matches words with actions, I am very sure that with his wealth of experience, he will build a sustainable and enviable state university that will stand the test of time and will demonstrate the eloquent testimony of his commitment to purpose and the people of Kogi west.

“On completion, the university will improve our education standards and give us recognition on a global scale. The University. will help more of our people to acquire academic skills, professional expertise, and knowledge.

“Worthy of note your excellency, is your decision to set up a committee of re-known academia and scholars across the state to determine the University type, name, and location. This is commendable. I join the rest of my people to appreciate you.

May you flourish in all you do. Your sweat will not run dry before you reap the reward of your labour, Amen

Born 56 Years Ago into the Industrious & Inimitable Family of Late Pa Jimoh Owogbemile from Kabba Extraction.

David is a product of the prestigious St. Augustine’s College and St. Barnaba’s College Kabba both in Former Oyi Local Government Area of Kwara, now Kogi State.

In Furtherance of Higher Education Knowledge, he enrolled with Bayero University, Kano where he Obtained his Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in 2001.

His Work Experience Spans over 30 Years Uninterrupted in Finance & Sales.

He Worked with VT Leasing Company in Lagos for over 3 Years As An Associate and Doubles as Head, Credit Administration Department.

In his Unquenchable Quest To Attain the Pinnacle of His Professional Career, he joined the Defunct Chartered Bank, now Stanbic IBTC making his Footprint Worthwhile between 1996 – 1999.

In view of his Innate Proficiency, Proactivity & Multiple Competencies, he was on the Payroll of Numerous Banks including but not Limited to – Standard Trust Bank (STB) 1999, City Express Bank (1999 – 2001), Global Bank- part of the intercontinental Group (2001- 2003), Ecobank (2003 – 2006), United Bank for Africa (UBA), (2006 – 2007), Access Bank (2007 – 2009), Union Bank of Nigeria (2009 – 2020).

He currently works with Access Bank as the Regional Sales Director (North Central, North East and FCT Abuja).

A Fellow of the Institute of Credit Administration of Nigeria, (FICA) and Honoulary Member, Chartered Institute of Bankers (HCIB).
