Hon. (Prince) Bode Ogunmola has formally withdrawn as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ogori/Magongo State Constituency seat in the forthcoming Kogi State House of Assembly election.

In a letter dated June 4, 2026, and addressed to the APC State Chairman in Kogi State through the party leadership in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area and Aiyeromi Ward, Ogunmola announced his voluntary decision to step down from the race.

The former candidate said the decision followed extensive consultations with his family and elders in his community, stressing that it was made after careful reflection and in the best interest of the party and the constituency.

According to him, the withdrawal should not be interpreted as a departure from the APC, as he remains fully committed to the ideals and vision of the ruling party.
Ogunmola reaffirmed his loyalty to the APC and pledged to continue working for the party’s success in future elections.

He stated that he would actively support the party and contribute to its victory in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area, Kogi State, and across the country.

He also expressed appreciation to the party leadership, stakeholders, and members for their support during the primary election process.

“Let me state unequivocally that I remain committed to the ideals and vision of the All Progressives Congress and I will remain a loyal party man and will work for the success of the party in all elections,” he stated.

Copies of the withdrawal letter were forwarded to the APC National Chairman at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja and the APC Chairman in Ogori/Magongo Local Government Area.

The development creates a vacancy in the party’s candidature for the Ogori/Magongo State Constituency ahead of the forthcoming legislative election.
