A Non governmental organisation under the name Patriots for Growth and Development Initiative (PGDI) has said that if #End SARS trends is not quickly checked, the nation may be thrown into a state of anarchy.
The Executive Director, PGDI, Mr. Isaac Salami dropped the hint while addressing newsmen at the press center of Nigerian Union of Journalist on Monday.
He noted that PGDI is highly concerned about the violent and dangerous dimension the #End SARS protest is taking across the country.
“We believe that the continuous escalating acts of disruptions, attacks and killings in recent days in some parts of the country is a carefully planned effort and handworks of fifth-columnist and enemies of Nigeria to subverting the relative peace and unity in Nigeria
“We clearly understand that the original intentions of the protesting youths is for an end to SARS, and for Police reform. We also affirms the Constitutional and democratic rights of every patriotic Nigerian to protest but the violent dimension that the supposed peaceful protest has taking in the past few days has shown that some enemies of the state are marauding as protesters to unleash mayhem and confusion on the peace and unity of Nigeria,” the statement noted.
Salami stressed that this persons intend to cause security crisis of national magnitude that will lead to destruction of lives and livelihoods of Nigerians.
The group therefore called on all Patriots and leaders to lend their voices and support for end of protest across the country while they await and monitor the implementation of the stated demands as approved by government to a logical conclusion and to the benefit of all Nigerians.
