About 1400 teachers cleared, waiting to be paid in Kogi-Kogi NUT Chairman

Comrade Ayodele Thomas said about 1400 teachers have been cleared, waiting to be paid in the state after screening by the screening committee.
He also reiterated it resolve to continue to pursue issues of Welfare and the interest of its members and also appeals to state government to make March ending a reality by paying cleared teachers
The State Chairman of Kogi State NUT, Comrade Ayodele Thomas, made this known on Tuesday in a meeting with teachers who were still uncleared during the last screening exercise in the state.
Comr. Ayodele expressed optimism that following the efforts of the Union, working in collaboration with the government, about 1400 teachers have been cleared, waiting to be paid.
He assured the teachers that no efforts would be spared in fighting for the interest of teachers, said an injury to one is an injury to all has been his driven force as NUT Chairman.
While he commended the uncleared staff for their resilience, perseverance and above all patience in staying the course, he thank God for their lives and those of their families amidst the challenging period of not been paid.
Comr. Ayodele appealed to the government to keep to its promise of making the month of march ending as date to pay the teachers cleared a reality.
The NUT Chairman assured that negotiation is presently ongoing regarding the new minimum wage, assured that efforts is on to ensure that the teachers get their desired share of the living wage.
While promising to fight in the interest of teachers in the state now and at all times, the NUT Chairman assured the teachers that the battle to improve the welfare of workers is a battle of no retreat, no surrender.
