Following several criticism from kogi stakeholders on the compilation of the State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC) list forwarded to the state assembly by the governor, Alhaji Yahya Bello, the governor has prepared another list.
However, Mamman Nda Erin may be appointed as the new SSIEC Chairman.
The confirmation of the eight man nominees of the State Independent Electoral Commission who is expected to conduct the local government election was earlier turned down by the state’s lawmakers after discovering that the members who are supposed to be nonpartisan are all card carrying APC members.
The earlier list sent to the state Assembly for confirmation by the governor had the former Lokoja Administrator, Shiru Lawal, a known APC member as the chairman of the eight man State Independent Electoral Commission.
As the government prepares is set to send another list for confirmation, there is already fear in the state by members of the opposition parties not to have choose another APC members that will do the bidding of the governor as the local government election approaches.
However Mamman Nda Erin may by the new SSIEC Chairman as gathered by Kogiflame.
