The Vice Chancellor, Professor K.I.T. Eniola fNSM, FRA on Thursday received a delegation of the Implementation Monitoring Committee, IMC, of the National Economic Council.
The evaluative visit was a NEC initiative geared towards fostering inter-governmental collaboration and peer learning among states of the federation.
The delegation, led by Professor Jerome Andohol—who also serves as the Benue State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, was tasked with assessing the implementation of NEC resolutions that have catalyzed various projects and programs across the country.
According to Professor Jerome, the objective of the visit was “to monitor progress, identify challenges, and facilitate peer learning among subnationals.”
Showcasing the rapid development of the university, the Vice Chancellor guided the delegation on a visit to over eight project sites, each at varying stages of completion.
The visitors expressed astonishment at the substantial level of progress achieved within a relatively short time.
Professor Eniola attributed the advancements recorded so far to the strong commitment of the government of His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the goodwill of partners who are impressed with commitment of management.
Professor Eniola used the occasion to thank the immediate past Executive Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, lauding him as a a great leader who was visionary enough to have established the university in the first place.
The monitoring team include; Professor Jerome Andohol, Hon. Commissioner for Budget & Economic Planning, and team lead, Implementation & Monitoring Commtee (IMC) North Central; Justin Aniah; Mary Eseyin, IMC Team Secretary Mary Eseyin.
Others include, Abubakar Musa Director, Planning Kogi State Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, and the CSO, Olakunle Adeola.
