The Senator Representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Sen. Sunday Karimi, has said that their was no killing of 27 people in Yagba West as reported by Sahara Reporters, described the report by Sahara as malicious and satanic.

Sen. Karimi made the disclosure while reacting to a recent publication by Sahara Reporters titled “Bandits Kill 27 in Fresh Attack on Kogi’s Yagba West As Insecurity Worsens”, described the publication as entirely false, reckless, warned fifth columnist who are trying to instill fear on the minds of the people to desist forthwith.

Sen. Karimi paid glowing tributes to the Federal and State Government who are working tirelessly to ensure that the people of Yagba and by extension the whole of Kogi State and Nigeria live peaceful, described the deliberate attempt to misinform the public, create unnecessary panic, and discredit the ongoing efforts by security agencies in maintaining peace and order in the State as unfortunate.

The Senator maintained that contrary to Sahara Reporters’ false narrative, there was no such attack, killing, or abduction anywhere in Yagba West Local Government Area as contained in the report, said those behind the sad publication should have a rethink before the long arms of the law catches up with them.

Sen. Karimi explained that he has been in touch with all the relevant security agencies, Local, State and Federal Government Security Agencies saddled with the maintenance of law and order, said the Sahara Reporters false report is the handiwork of mischief makers.

“There was no mass killing. This story is a figment of the imagination of its authors. This is yellow journalism with ethics and public trust at its peak thrown overboard”.

“Our people are living in peace and no amount of false report will deter them from having faith in the efforts of the Federal and State Government efforts aimed at ensuring peace and tranquility”.

” I use this medium to asked those causing apprehension, anxiety and fear in the people Yagba West Local Government to desist.
Despite the bandits issues, our people are determined to live there lives”.

” The Federal and State Government are doing a lot to contain the temporary problems occasioned by mischief makers.
Most times the issues raised about insecurity in our area is not true”.

“Nobody was killed as reported by Sahara Reporters. There is a fifth columnist trying to cause fear in the minds of our people and to render the efforts of Government inspite there efforts as inconsiquential”.

“I want to use this medium to tell our people to remain vigilant and that all those who are bent on causing problems in our peaceful communities are enemies of progress”.

“The Federal and State Government are doing there best. Our Soldiers are daily sacrificing there lives for the peace and safety of lives and properties and no amount of propaganda will deter them from fighting insecurity head-on and to state that nobody for political reasons will do anything to bring the country down”.

“The Sahara Report is false in it entirety. Nobody was killed. The Soldiers and all other security agencies are doing there best. We appreciate all they are doing”.

“I say it with all sense of responsibilities that nobody was killed as reported by the Sahara Reporters. I want to assure our people that working in consonance with the Federal and State Government, we will fish out those who come to Kogi West to cause trouble as well as ensure that they do not return to back to wherever they come from”.
