OPEN LETTER TO:
H.E, Edward ONOJA
Former Chief Of Staff And Deputy Governor To Former Governor Yahaya Bello Of Kogi State.

By. Dr. Kenneth S S Enebe

This is in response to your recent reckless public outburst in which you referred to your former boss and governor of Kogi State, H.E, Yahaya Adoza Bello for 8 years that he “Betrayed” you.

To start with, I may say I don’t blame you by the experience of where you are coming from and on the other hand, the unabated magnanimity of the Egbiras towards the non Egbira persons which is due to our inherent forthrightness, give and take morals.

However, Chief Edward Onoja has failed to know that he has come to equity without a clean hands for accusing his boss former governor Yahaya Bello having “Betrayed” him for not handling over to succeed him despite some odds that the former governor Yahaya Bello has faced because of the very high preference he gave to Edward ONOJA to serve in the government which many saw as abnormal in retrospect to Kogi State experience before the emergence of governor Yahaya Bello as governor.

Since the creation of kogi state in 1991and the Igala speaking indigen has ruled the State for 21 years which includes Col. Danladi Zakari, Prince Abubakar Audu, Alh. Ibrahim Idris and Capt. Wada Idris has never appointed a non Igala as a Chief Of Staff but former governor Yahaya Bello changed the ethnic narrative and appointed Mr. Edward Onoja from Igala indigen as his Chief Of Staff during the first tenure of office, a position he used not only to betray and cause havoc for the public to under estimate the administration of FGYB.

As a CoS, he usurps the functions and betrayed the Deputy Governor, H.E, Simon Achuba who is also from the same Kogi East Senatorial district with him until he worked for the removal of Simon Achuba towards the end of the first term of governor Yahaya Bello and Mr. Edward Onoja was eventually made the Deputy Governor to H.E governor Yahaya Bello during his 2nd tenure of office.

It will be recalled that Kogi state workers salary payment was under the control of the Chief Of Staff, Mr.Edward Onoja which was manipulated especially the Local government salary payments during the first term of office of governor Yahaya Bello to betrayed and gave a bad public image to the administration but low and behold, his elevation to the position of Deputy Governor during the 2nd tenure of office and the appointment of Pharm. Abdulkareem Asuku as Chief Of Staff changed the unwholesome practices which beat the imagination of governor Yahaya Bello that accounted for the significant payments of workers salaries which the state labour unions alluded to during the 2nd term of administration of FGYB.

The former Deputy Governor, H.E, Edward Onoja lost his banking job and went into private micro business before Former Governor Yahaya Bello, a very successful transport business man ventured into politics and became governor of kogi State out of which the Former Chief Of Staff And Deputy Governor, H.E, Edward Onoja was a major beneficiary and among other things, He owned one of the fast growing petrol station known as ENYO filling station across the country, cornered intending investors, state and federal appointment to the people of his senatorial district, governor Yahaya Bello allowed him to locate the establishment of the Federal Science and Technical College to his community, Ogugu Asides many state’s infrastructural developments across the igalaland under Former Governor Yahaya Bello’s administration upon which the successor H.E, governor Ahmed Usman Ododo is building more across the State to the admiration of the good people of Kogi State.

The following questions are begging for answers by the Former Chief Of Staff And Deputy Governor, H.E, Edward Onoja which includes but limited to: What do you call the following scenarios that have taken place in the governance of Kogi State before governor Yahaya Bello?

I. When former governor Ibrahim Idris denied former Kogi house Speaker, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Bello from Kogi Central to be sworn in as an acting governor at the point of former governor Ibrahim Idris removal by supreme Court for spending unconstitutional additional term of office and forcefully sworn in a probational former governor Capt. Idris Wada instead of Rt.Hon Abdullahi Bello?

II. What do you call when Former Governor Ibrahim Idris Collected and denied the current Senator Jibril Echocho the Kogi State governorship party ticket and chose Capt Idris Wada in his replacement.?

iii. What do you call when Former Governor Ibrahim Idris promised former Kogi House Speaker, Hon. Clarence Olafemi who was the acting governor for three months when Ibro’s election was annulled by a competent court that he will transfer power to Hon.Clarence Olafemi as the next governor if only as the acting governor worked for his re-run election and Hon. Clarence Olafemi was later jettisoned for Capt. Wada on the ground that power cannot shift from Kogi East(Igalaland)?

IV. What do you call when your former boss FGYB was having politically motivated challenges, you were less concerned and it was alleged, which your current body language and utterances has vindicated that you were among the selfmade enemies of FGYB circulating falsified information against FGYB who was alleged and persecuted by the EFCC and H.E, Ahmed Usman Ododo’s election Tribunal/Court which Mr. J S Okutepa, SAN. was the leading counsel to EFCC and Ajaka respectively and in a build up to your unreasonable public outburst at context you, H.E, Edward Onoja, Ajaka and H.E, Simon Achuba whom you used your office as Chief Of Staff to betrayed, made to be denied his financial entitlement and eventual lobbied and take over his position as Deputy Governor for the last four years expiration were in a reconciliatory show up which connotes that betrayal is a norm in your genes which is important to study and emulate by others ?

V. What do you call your conspiracy with the paramount traditional ruler, the Atah, Igala who went behind the scene to obtain a so-called court judgment to claim the ownership of Ajaokuta, Lokoja and Koton karfi land without involving the defendants which you cannot claim innocent of the game plan by the leaders of Igala behind your boss, H.E, Governor Yahaya Bello?

In view of the above scenarios and for a peaceful and healthy coexisting that FGYB has worked so hard to build among the good people of Kogi State must not be undermined for whatever individual and or group interest. A golden advice to the Former Deputy Governor, H.E, Edward Onoja who God has been marvelous to uplift you to the leadership level you are now, is to crave for peace through your words and actions rather than rancho. Therefore, your retraction and apologies to re-cement your enviable long standing relationship with your boss former governor Yahaya Bello is sacrosanct.
