An Anglican clergy, Ven. Timothy Akande, on Saturday called on all married couples to build their marriages on the fear and love of God, saying that it is the only way to guarantee a successful and peaceful marriage

The clergyman who was speaking during the marriage ceremony between Aaron and Princess, noted that most marriages today are heading for the rocks because of lack of fear of God.

Princess Omolola Adrodija, is the daughter of the Permanent secretary of the Kogi ministry of Information and Communications a and a former Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Kogi State council, while her husband, Aaron Akoji Makolo, is the son of a former Nigeria Labour Congress, official in Kogi state.

Speaking on the topic “Marriage,; a Journey through the fear of God” Ven. Akande enjoined the newly married couple to build their home on the fear of God, cautioning them not to fashion their lives after other people.

He called on wives to always be supportive of their husbands, saying to have a happy home, their must be love and mutual understanding.

The clergyman warned that any external interference will create unnecessary friction, saying that they must always exermine properly any external advise to know if they are genuine and avoid being misled.

Speaking also the father of the Bride, Ebenezer Adrodija, expressed gratitude to the guests for the honour, and enjoined the new couple to live in peace and harmony.

“While I expressed gratitude to our guests for this honour, it is my prayers for the couple to live their lives in peace. The Journey of marriage is not an easy one, but the same God who has helped us these number of decades in marriage, will help them too.
