The Judiciary Staff Union Of Nigeria, (JUSUN), Kogi State Branch, has embark on an indefinite strike over unfulfilled promises such as unpaid arrears and leave bonus made by the Kogi State government.

In a statement signed by Comrade Emmanuel Waniko, Chairman and Comrade Sule Suberu Secretary, said the strike became necessary due to the failure of government to pay their October, 2024 arrears and 2025 leave bonus as promised by the government.

The statement reads “Fellow Comrades, the Union salutes your courage and support in the phase of an ongoing struggle for the payment of our October, 2024 arrears and 2025 Leave Bonus.

“You will recall that the last strike was suspended before it’s commencement as a result of the purported approval by the Governor which was communicated to us through the Heads of Courts.

“It’s rather unfortunate that the Governor’s promise of payment could not be fulfilled even as we have waited patently to see its fulfillment. The Union wish to express our disappointment in that regards and has directed as follows:

“That effective from Thursday 4” December, 2025 all staff of Kogi State Judiciary should proceed on an indefinite strike.

“That no staff should be seen engaging in any official functions during this period until further notice.

“That the payment of October, 2024 Arrears and 2025 Leave bonus must be paid before resumption.

“The Union once again appreciate your continued support throughout the struggle. Aluta Continua; Victoria Acerta.
