The Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Karimi, has expressed profound sorrow over the death of the Olu of Ike-Bunu, His Royal Highness Olu Amos Omojagbara Aledare, describing the late monarch as a symbol of peace, wisdom, and selfless service.
In a condolence message issued on Tuesday, the lawmaker sympathised with the people of Ike-Bunu in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area, the Bunu Traditional Council, the royal family, and the entire community over the monarch’s passing.
Senator Karimi said the late traditional ruler served as a father figure and custodian of the rich cultural heritage of the Bunu people, noting that his demise has created a significant vacuum in Ike-Bunu and across Kogi West.
According to him, the monarch’s reign was marked by unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and the socio-cultural development of his people.
“The news of the passing of HRH Olu Amos Omojagbara Aledare came to me with great shock and sadness. Kabba-Bunu has lost a revered royal father whose leadership was defined by wisdom, peace, and dedication to community development,” Karimi stated.
The senator prayed for the peaceful repose of the monarch’s soul and asked God to grant strength and comfort to the bereaved family and the entire Ike-Bunu community during this difficult period.
He urged residents to uphold the values and legacies left behind by the late monarch, describing him as a rallying point for unity and progress whose wise counsel would be greatly missed.
Karimi also appealed to the people to remain peaceful and united as they mourn the revered traditional ruler and prepare for the process of selecting a successor.
His Royal Highness Olu Amos Omojagbara Aledare reigned as the Olu of Ike-Bunu until his death. The family and the traditional council are expected to announce burial arrangements in due course.
