THE Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Prince Matthew Kolawole had said that he has not discussed his 2023 aspirations as governor of Kogi State with anyone, neither did he signify any intention.
He made this known at the monthly meeting with the statutory appointees attached to his office and others he appointed to render support services.
In a press statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Femi Olugbemi said his loyalty and respect earned him the opportunity in 2015 which has propelled him to the where he found himself today.
According to him, he has just spent 8months out of 48months mandate given to him by the good people of Kabba/Bunu State Constituency, how come some are talking of 2023 that is basically in the hands of God.
‘For me I have not discussed 2023 aspirations with anyone, neither I have signify any intention, it is only God that determine the future, I only pray that God should give me a successful tenure’
“It is only God that determine the future, I only pray that God should give me a successful tenure’
He said everyone has his own appointed time and noted that he never knew what lies ahead of him when he was asked to step down in 2007.
He therefore charged his appointees to be loyal and commitment to duties.
According to him, he will not tolerate indiscipline, indolence and laziness, stressing that loyalty is the key word;  that he is not expecting anything less than hundred percent loyalty from them.
He noted that as the number three in the state it is not good for any of his Aides to be found wanting anywhere, while urging those that have political aspirations in the upcoming Local Government elections should go about it with decorum as the leadership of the party in the state has not given any directives.
He urged them to continue to be of good conduct.
The Speaker who commended governor Yahaya Bello and the New Direction Administration for the cordial working relationship that have strengthened the Legislative Arm in the State, stressed that it is the magnanimity of the government that provides the opportunity for them to serve along with him and commended them for their support, cooperation, commitment and dedication to duties, urging them to continue in light.
Responding on behalf of the appointees, the Chief of Staff to the Honourable Speaker, Hon. Sunday Ojo eulogized the sterling leadership style of the Speaker and promised that they  will not have any reason not to be loyal, as it is a rare privilege for them to be given such opportunity to serve along with him.
He said the Aides will continue to strive hard in giving their best at their various points of duties.
