On Monday when the final result of the election was finally announced, some political thugs about 2pm in the afternoon invaded the community shooting sporadically and then made straight to the late Mrs Abuh’s house and then surrounded the house, bolting every exit and escape from outside.
He disclosed that on that Monday there was a misunderstanding between one Awolu Zekeri a member of the All Progressive Congress (APC) and one Gowon Simeon a member of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) both of Ochadamu.
He stated that Gowon Simeon stabbed Awolu Zekeri with a knife on his Lap when they are fighting and he later died on his way to the Hospital, as a result, angry Youths in the area mobilized to the house of one Simeon Abuh of same address who is an uncle to the suspect, set it a blazed, thereby burnt Salome Abuh aged 60 years.
“They poured petrol on the building and set it ablaze as other terrorized villagers watched from hiding. She attempted to escape through a window but was prevented by the metal burglary proof and they started shooting raining bullets

“The thugs waited no time shooting and watching with relish while Mrs Abuh cried for help from inside the inferno until her voice died out,” he said.
According to him,  they left the village when the entire house and Mrs Abuh had been burnt to ashes.
The people in that community could not help her as every one have to ran away for their lives. Not even the vigilante or hunters in that community could do anything to safe the woman.
Also speaking one of the community leader condemned in a strong term the killing of the woman.

The reprisal attack by alleged APC members which led to the death of an innocent woman is criminal and condemnable. Our government would not shield party members who break the laws of the land.
“His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Bello has directed security agents to quell the rising tension and also ensure that perpetrators of the murder and arson are brought to book. The Governor is elected to protect all Kogi people regardless of their ethnic or political beliefs”.
