The Commissioner for Information and Communications, Hon Kingsley Femi Fanwo has reiterated Governor Ododo’s mandate to all Ministries, Departments and Agencies in the state to cooperate, collaborate, synergize and work with all Federal Agencies so that they will perform their duties effectively and efficiently.

Hon Fanwo highlighted the mandate when he received a Management Team from the National Orientation Agency (NOA) in his office in Lokoja.

The Hon. Commissioner likened the ministry’s responsibilities and duties with that of NOA, seeking that both bodies should synergise to reshape and reengineer the mindset of the people so that they can see government as their own and realise that government’s infrastructures and amenities are theirs.

“The policy of the present administration in the state is such that we talk to the people, we inform the people, we enlighten the people, we cause an unprecedented orientation, reengineer and recalibrate how our people think and react. This is in line with the objective and policy of the NOA. This goes to show that the Ministry and the agency have the same mandate. And most importantly our policy in the ministry is not just to tell the people what the Government is doing but to also tell the Government the expectations of the people through feedback. We shall do everything possible to work in synergy with National Orientation Agency.”

“We already have the mandate of the Governor to cooperate, collaborate, synergize with all federal agencies so that they would be able to deliver on their mandate in the state and at the end of the day our people will be the biggest beneficiaries of their activities,” Hon Fanwo emphasised.

The Hon Commissioner further admonished the agency not to succumb to campaigns of calumny, incitation, division, ethnic disunity and tension of the populace against the State or Federal Government, stressing that the orientation of the people must be patterned to support the government, see government as their own, see government infrastructures and amenities as their own and take ownership, adding that the orientation of people is shaped by what they see and hear affirming that the Ministry and the agency are part of the agents that would reshape the thinking of the citzenry.

The Perm. Sec. of the Ministry, Mr Teddy Adegbola in his address welcomed the State Director and Management Team of NOA to the Ministry. assuring them of the Ministry’s cooperation with the agency.

The State Director National Orientation Agency (NOA), Alhaji Abdulganiyu Olurotimi Dare commended Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for his giant strides in the state, most especially the security architecture of the state. He also commended Hon. Fanwo for his robust activities in the Ministry geared towards revolutionary development of the state.

Alhaji Abdulganiyu reiterated the mandate of NOA which include sensitizatizing and informing the citizens on the policies and programmes of the Government. He therefore sought the Ministry’s collaboration for his plans and programmes.

He maintained that the agency serves as the bridge between the Government and the governed through providing adequate reports to the states and Federal Government.
