The immediate past Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Prince Mathew Kolawole, and leading House of Representative Aspirant for Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency has called on Christians in the state to use the Christmas celebration as an opportunity to pray for peaceful coexistence and unity among citizens.
In a press statement, the former Speaker described Christmas as a season of sharing and showing love, emphasizing the need for Christians to reflect on the essence of sacrifice and prayer. He noted that there is no better time to pray for Kogi State and Nigeria than during the Christmas period.
Prince Kolawole referred to Kogi State as the heartbeat of Nigeria and urged Christians to look beyond the festive decorations and gift-giving, to the true meaning of Christmas. He emphasized that the holiday is a time for selflessness, generosity, and compassion, and that these values should guide the actions of Christians throughout the year.
The former Speaker also highlighted the importance of family and togetherness during the Christmas season, encouraging people to prioritize meaningful connections with loved ones.
“As we celebrate Christmas, let us carry these lessons forward into the coming year. May the spirit of giving, love, togetherness, hope, faith, and gratitude permeate our lives, guiding us toward a brighter and more compassionate future for us all in Kogi State,” he said.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas filled with love, joy, and the warmth of cherished connections.
