IN line with the Kogi State Government directive to lockdown all activities to curtail the spread of the deadly coronavirus pandemic in the State, the Member representing Kabba/Bunu State Constituency and Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole has distributed food stuffs worth millions of naira to his constituents to cushion the effects of the seat at home order.
The Speaker said the order became necessary in order to curtail the spread of the pandemic and urged the people to show great understanding at this time to save the larger population of the State.
He said as their representative, he would continue to strive hard by providing necessary succour at a hard time like this, stressing that the government is working round the clock to resolve the issue as soon as possible.
He commended Governor Yahaya Bello led leadership in the state for his proactive measure to protect the state by setting up a committee that has been up and doing in creating awareness for the citizens to know the danger the deadly coronavirus pose to our existence in life.
According to him, he will continue to stand with the people, pointing out that the food stuffs he provided is to ameliorate the suffering of the people, calling on well meaning individuals, corporate organizations and NGO to join hands in supporting the populace.
Items made available included, rice, semovita, weat and garri, noting that the distribution will not be party base rather it will be giving to people that truly need it at this time.
He advised the people to adhered strictly to the lay down rules and regulations set by the WHO to maintain social distancing of at least 1m, personal hygiene, avoid handshake, wash your hands regularly
