The management of Mangal Cement Industry has distanced itself from the actions of a driver who allegedly used a company truck to transport passengers from Iluhagba to Isanlu. The driver has been sacked for gross misconduct.

In a statement signed by the General Manager, Administration and Human Resources, Dr. Musa Umar, the company expressed dismay at the driver’s actions, saying it contravened company rules and posed a security risk.

“Mangal Cement Industry is a reputable organization that will not engage in any act that would compromise the security situation in the country, especially in Kogi State, its host state,” the statement read.

The company emphasized that its vehicles are solely for transporting Mangal cement products to designated locations, not for carrying passengers, especially underage children.

The statement noted that the driver’s actions were a clear breach of company policy and had the potential to tarnish the company’s image.

The company had recently donated three brand new Nissan Hilux vehicles to the Kogi State government to support the fight against insecurity.

The management urged the public to note that it would not condone or support any activities that promote crime and criminality, and assured that it would continue to provide quality services to its customers.

The statement also referenced a press statement issued by the Yagba East Local Government, saying Mangal Cement Industry was not involved in the driver’s misconduct and trusted that authorities are already investigating the matter.
