Suspected armed robbers have invaded radio Nigeria prime 101.5fm Jimgbe in Kogi State and stole transmission equipments worth millions of naira.

The sad incident which happened in the early hours of Saturday saw the suspected armed robbers operating comfortably for more than three hours without any interception by security agencies in the State.

Speaking to Journalists on Saturday, the General Manager of the Station Momoh-Jimoh Adeiza noted that they woke up to see that their station have been attacked by armed criminals who went away with their broadcasting equipments.

“This is a major attack on the station. We are currently off air right now because our equipments have been stolen by this armed criminals. When they came, they tied up our security Man on duty to carry out their nefarious activities. Where do we go from here now?

” Am calling on security agencies to double their efforts in apprehending those criminals who have carries out this grievous crime. I have communicated with our zonal director on this sad development”.

Adeiza, however, called on the relevant authorities to come the aide of the station so that they can come back on air again.

Narrating his ordeals to with the suspected criminals, the security Man on duty identified as Daniel Haruna asserted that
the suspected criminal were armed with dangerous weapons such as a guns, cutlasses, adding that, they moved away with copper part of the feeder lines, 22 pieces of modules, armoured cables, generator batteries, and many more.

“They were more than 10 armed criminals that attacked our station. They came around 1am this Saturday morning with guns and cutlasses. When they pointed touch light on me, they immediately gripped me and tied me to a tree and blindfolded my eyes.

” I could not scream because I was helpless. They operated for more than three hours before they left our station. I have never experienced this kind of thing in my life before” he stated.

Aside the equipment stolen, the destruction caused on the station by the suspected armed criminals calls for concerns
