A group, know as The Progressive Ambassadors of Ebiraland (PRAMEL) has fixed Saturday, July 2nd as the date to hold its First Bi-annual Unity Forum and Oration/Presentation and Launching of a Book on the Ebira Socio – Political and Historical transition.
In a letter of invitation signed by its convener, Hon. Engr. Ozi-Raji Bill Williams and cited by this medium, The Progressive Ambassadors of Ebira Land ( PRAMEL) lamented on the issue of Disunity and Moral Decadence in Kogi Central.
According to him, there is dare need for all the stakeholders in the senatorial district to come together and critically fashion out a way forward that will foster unity , alleviate the suffering of the masses and critically look at all the areas of concern; particularly , those things bedeviling the Ebiras and seem to have stalled the collective progress of the Ebira People as a nation
The invitation reads in part, “The above underlined subject matters refers. Most frankly, it is quite sad and of note that, the lingering issues responsible for the disunity among the Ebira, particularly amongst some Ebira Elites, The Brainwashed Younger Generations and among some elders and stakeholders of Ebira land is indeed assuming a stronger dimension and it is gradually weakening our collective strength as Ebiras in the corridors of power, business world and in the political space at both the federal and state level. This is also destroying our chances of enshrining real progress in Ebira land given room for strangers and people of other constituencies to take what is rightly ours
“Nonetheless, and of a great concern, the Progressive Ambassadors of Ebira Land (PRAMEL) is very perturbed by this negative trend since the inception of Kogi state, for this has indeed taken a strong hold on a majority of our people as evident in them destroying one another via their sponsors and abject poverty across ebira land: while our brothers and sisters from the other constituencies and tribes are there making collective progress for themselves, their clans and communities.
Among the invited guests are his Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, the executive Governor of Kogi Sate. his Eminence, Dr Ado Ibrahim, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land who is the Royal father of the day.
Others are IGP, Aliyu Atta (rtd), Ambassador S.A Lawal ,OON, Ambassador Job Omiwon, former AGF Mohammed Bello Adoke, Alhaji Sheidu Bello Ozigis, DIG Abdulrahim Yusuf, Dr Hamilton Ozi Raji JP, Hajiya Mariam Salihu Ibrahim (Adoke), Mrs Ahmed Lami Onayi, Bar. Hajiya Ramatu Shehu atta, Dr. Mrs Natasha Akpoti, E. Uduaghan, Bridge. Gen. A. Yusuf Amuda, DiG Abdullahi Yusuf, Professor Adams Okene Ahmed, Professor Suberu Ochi Abdurrahman, Professor Mike Ogirima, Senator Dr Mohammed Ohiare, Sen. Yakubu Oseni The chairman of A. A oil Ltd, Alhaji Aliu Abubakar, Alh. Mohammed Ataba Sani Omolori, Alhaji Abubakar Sanusi Gamji, Honourable Tijani Damisa, Hon. Joseph Asuku Bello, Chief of Staff to the Kogi state government, Pharm. MuhammedJamiu Asuku, Professor, Y. O Yakubu, Professor Tom Adaba.
Also invited are former Kogi state information commissioner, Dr. Tom Ohikere, Elder Sunday Raji, Ambassador Sheidu Momoh. as well as the Ebira Peoples Association EPA, The Ebira Elders Supreme Council, The Ebira Elders Forum Abuja, Front for Ebira Solidarity, The Ohiku-Ebira Decendants Forum, Clob 10, The Ebira Leadership Forum, The Ebira Youth Congress, The Ebira Academicians, Members of the Ebira Traditional Area Council, The Ebura Opete Forum, The Ebira Development Forum, The Ebira Women Association Nation wide, The Ebiras in Diaspora among others.
It was also gathered that Pramels will also make arrangement for Vitual connectivity via sky and Zoom for those in the Diaspora to link in and be part of the event..
According to the convener, a communique will be raised from all the presentations at the end of the day, to be followed up by the office of the Governor of Kogi State for immidiate consideration and implementations.
Williams further disclosed that an inter local Government Area Council Sensitization will also commence in August, 2022 afer a session with the Royal fathers, while A leadership Award Session and induction of great Ebira leaders (Living and post Humor ) will come up in the month of September, 2022. Adding that he believes all these programmes put together will change the narrative of the Ebira People for good and help them take back their lead position in the affairs of Kogi State Again. The event will be themed as the “Ebira Word Recovery Day”.
