The immediate past Speaker, Kogi State House of Assembly, Prince Mathew Kolawole, has appealed to the new Council Chairmen to work towards envisioning the program and policies of Governor Ahmed Ododo in meeting with the expectations of the people at the Grassroots.
He equally congratulated the elected Chairmen from the West Senatorial District on their successful assumption of office, described their emergence and assumption of office as a reflection of the wishes of the people.
Prince Kolawole in a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja on Friday described victory of the Council Chairmen as well deserved, urged them to emulate the footsteps of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo who the former Speaker explained has become a household name in the hearts of Kogi people.
The immediate past Speaker called on the Council Chairmen to work hard in justifying the confidence reposed on them by their people, pointing out that people of Kogi West are a unique people, reason why as Chairmen, they must strive to meet with the yearning and aspirations of the people.
In the words of the former Speaker:, “For Council Chairman of Ijumu LGA, Alhaji Haruna Ibrahim. You have always made success of all the endeavors assigned to you, privately and now in politics. I have every iota of conviction that the sun of Development has risen for the people of Ijumu LGA”.
“For us in Kabba/Bunu LGA. Barr. Zacheaus Dare Michael is a household name and known for bringing passion and dedication to achieve results. You are a goal getter. You have done it before, I hold you in high esteem that the confidence reposed on you by our people would be justified”.
For the Council Chairman of Kogi LGA, Hon. Musa Abdulmalik, the yearning and aspirations of the people on your administration is high. This enormous expectation can be surpassed if you bring in your wealth of experience. Go and make our party and the people of Kogi LGA proud”.
“To whom much is given so much is expected. For Comr. Abdullahi Adamu Chairman, Lokoja LGA, as Caretaker Chairman you met with the people’s expectations reason why you had a seamless election. Your Midas touch will be needed to put smiles and meet with the expectations of the people. I want to say with you, I can go to sleep with the hope that your trajectory would once again come to play in the deliverables”.
“For the people of MopaMuro LGA, the emergence of Hon. Ademola Bello as Chairman is the breaking of a new day. I call on the people of the local Government to join hands with him in building a virile Mopa Mopamuro LGA”.
According to Prince Kolawole, Yagba East LGA is in safe hands with Hon. Joshua Dare Monday as Chairman. ” I congratulate you on your well deserved victory. Do us proud in our attestation of your can do spirit. With humility, you made success in your past endeavors. I’m absolutely confident that same would be witnessed in Yagba East LGA”.
“In Yagba West LGA. Hon. Olokun Tosin as Chairman would certainly do well. I congratulate you and pray for you to succeed. I have followed your antecidents over the years and make bold to say that Yagba West is in safe hands. I congratulate you on your assumption of office”.
