Nigeria’s Honourable Minister of Steel Development, Princehuaibu Abubakar Audu, is set to participate in the Africa Natural Resources and Energy Investment Summit (AFNIS) 2026, where he will showcase the country’s ambitious drive to transform its steel sector into a catalyst for industrialization and economic growth.
Prince Audu, a respected investment banker turned public servant, has emerged as a key figure in Nigeria’s efforts to unlock the vast potential of the steel industry.
Since assuming office, he has spearheaded reforms and initiatives aimed at attracting strategic investments, reviving critical steel assets, and positioning Nigeria as a competitive value-added industrial economy.
His participation at AFNIS 2026 as from 23rd to 25th June is taken place at State House Conference Center, Presidential Villa Abuja is expected to provide valuable insights into the opportunities within Nigeria’s steel sector, as well as the policy frameworks and partnerships needed to accelerate growth and competitiveness.
The Minister will also outline the Federal Government’s vision for building a robust steel industry capable of supporting infrastructure development, job creation, and economic diversification.
Industry stakeholders, investors, and policymakers attending the summit are expected to gain firsthand knowledge of Nigeria’s plans to strengthen its industrial base through steel production and value-chain development.
