It has been revealed why the former Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Kingsley Fanwo lost the All Progressive Congress (APC) primary election of Yagba Federal Constituency.
He contested the party primary election with other aspirants for the Yagba House of Representative.
Sources closed to the party in Yagba discosed to our correspondent that after two Local Government Areas casted their votes in Yagba Federal Constituency, Fanwo was in the clear lead.
His words, “He won Mopamuro and Yagba West. But getting to Yagba East, the Chairman of the Local Government and his brother who is the Finance commissioner instructed the delegates to vote Folorunsho Olafemi as a result of the cold war between him and the Commissioner
“Folorunsho Olafemi scored 39 in Yagba East against my 5 votes that made him overtake Fanwo and won with 4 votes. Despite the Governor’s preference for him, the Commissioner for Finance and Budget Planning, Hon. Asiru Asiwaju Idris and his brother who have serially lost their polling unit and ward, dared the Governor and deliver their delegates massively to Folorunsho Olafemi
“Each Local Government Area casted their votes in separate ballot boxes and were sorted separately. So it was easy to know who scored what at where,” he said.
However, it was gathered that the alleged cold war between Fanwo and the Asiru family emanated from Fanwo’s support for Hon. Sunday Karimi.
It was believed that the Finance Commissioner never forgave Fanwo as he too was interested in the Senate.
Despite the system instructing him and his brother to deliver Fanwo, they worked against his emergence and dared the system.
Both the Commissioner and the Local Government Chairman are brothers of the same parents.
