Nigerians have been urged to stop transferring of aggression on security personnels discharging their constitutional duties of beefing up security across every nook and corner of the country.
In his remarks, the convener, Workers Day Dialogue, Dr David Ehindero, expressed dissatisfaction over the way security personnels particularly policemen were being treated.
Dr Ehindero who argued that law enforcement agents deserved to be treated with dignity, said some bad eggs among other refined officers should be checked.
Ehindero who is also the Lead Strategist, The Nigerian Workforce Strategy and Enlightenment Center(NIWOSEC), enjoined government to attach importance to the welfare of the law enforcement agents in order to encourage them to do more.
He, however, said the programme was orgnised by NIWOSEC to promote cooperation and integration of Nigerian workers for national unity and development.
He disclosed that the programme with the theme “Securing the Security Community” was to draw the government’s attention to security agents for an adequate attention.
In his lecture, the Director Academic Planning, Kwara State University, Malete, Prof Abdulrauf Ambali, attributed problems confronting Nigeria to policies summersault and systemic failure.
The don who frowned at the lopsidedness in the allocation of the country’s resources, called for synergy among stakeholders to fashion out ways out of the present quagmire.
Other speakers at the event stressed the need for Nigerians to shun all divisive tendencies and embrace one another and form a common front for overall benefits and development.
