States across the Federation have been urged to emulate Niger State in her drive towards agric revolution and food security.
The Chief Executive Officer of TREMMA AGRO SERVICES, Mr Emmanuel Abuhson gave the advise in an interview with newsmen in Lokoja.
Mr Abuhson said Niger State has shifted from the age long practice of man power driven farming system to technological and mechanical based system.
He urged other states to upgrade to the system in vogue to enhance food sufficiency at domestic level and export purpose for revenue generation.
The Chief Executive Officer of TREMMA AGRO SERVICES emphasized that the sole use of man power in agric will definitely reduce both agric impute and output saying, over sixty percent of the land remained uncultivated due to limitations occasioned by the use of man power.
The Kogi born agriculturalist urged Nigerians to look forward in life noting that the catch up deal to meet up with Nations ahead can only be realized through the application of mechanisation and technology in agriculture.
He appealed to Kogi State to erase human barriers inimical to the growth of agriculture saying various administration have developed interest in agriculture without corresponding vision from the handlers of the sector.
Abuhson called for collaboration among stakeholders to promote the sector and shun individualistic benefits above communal progress.
He also called for public private partnership to achieve a level of results appealing to government to create a flexible environment for agriculture to thrive.
On this year’s weather prediction by the Nigeria Meteorological Agency (NIMET), Abuhson called for the engagement of extension service workers to break the weather information down to useable information for local farmers to avoid loss and frustration in both farming and cropping calender.
