
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Idah, Dr. Y. B. Usman, has praised the National Association of Kogi State Students (NAKOSS) for its commitment to institutional development following the commissioning of projects executed by the association’s 2025/2026 Executive Council.
The projects, which include the donation of ten classroom podiums, whiteboards and markers, were officially commissioned at a ceremony held within the Polytechnic.
Speaking during the event, the Dean of Student Affairs, Engr. Omagu Friday, commended the NAKOSS leadership for demonstrating responsibility and dedication to the welfare of students and the institution.
He encouraged the executive members to remain steadfast in pursuing the association’s objectives and to continue initiating projects that positively impact the Polytechnic community.
While commissioning the projects, Dr. Usman described the donations as a commendable display of selfless leadership and service.
He noted that the initiative would enhance teaching and learning and urged other student associations to emulate NAKOSS by channeling proceeds from their activities into projects that promote institutional growth.
In her remarks, NAKOSS President, Ayorinde Damilola Peace, expressed gratitude to the Rector, members of the Polytechnic’s Top Management Committee, the Dean of Student Affairs, Deans of Schools, staff and students for their support and participation in the commissioning ceremony.
She also called on other student bodies to embrace developmental initiatives that would leave lasting impacts on the institution and improve the learning environment.
The event was attended by the Deputy Rector (Academic), the Registrar, the Polytechnic Librarian, the Dean of Student Affairs, Deans of various schools, representatives of the Students’ Union Government (SUG), members of staff and students of the Federal Polytechnic Idah.
