As part of efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure ahead of the 23rd Nigeria Polytechnic Games (NIPOGA), the Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Idah, Dr. Y.B. Usman, has inspected the proposed site for the construction of a 750-seat ultra-modern sports pavilion at the institution’s football pitch.
The inspection enabled the Rector to witness the setting-out of the pavilion, which will consist of two adjoining sections with seating capacities of 500 and 250 respectively (side by side).
The Rector was accompanied by the Deputy Rector (Academics), the Director, Physical Planning Unit, Polytechnic Coach, Protocol officer (Deputy Registrar P.R & P.U), Chief Security Officer (CSO) and other staff of Sport Directorate of the institution.
Speaking during the inspection, Dr. Usman reaffirmed the Polytechnic Management’s commitment to providing world-class sporting facilities that will support the successful hosting of the 23rd NIPOGA and promote sports development within the institution.
When completed, the ultra-modern sports pavilion will significantly improve the Polytechnic’s sporting infrastructure and provide a standard venue for sporting competitions and other major events, benefiting the institution, the host community, and the nation at large.
