Former Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Matthew Kolawole, has continued to distinguish himself as one of the most loyal political figures in Kogi State, maintaining unwavering support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Governor Yahaya Bello, and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo over the last three years.

In an era where political alliances often shift with changing fortunes, Kolawole has remained steadfast in his commitment to the leadership and political ideals of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

His consistency has earned him recognition among party faithful and political observers who view loyalty as a critical ingredient for political stability and development.

Since the emergence of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as Nigeria’s leader, Kolawole has openly supported the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing confidence in the President’s capacity to address the nation’s socio-economic challenges and reposition the country for sustainable growth.

He has repeatedly urged Nigerians to support the Federal Government’s policies, emphasizing the need for patience and collective sacrifice to achieve long-term national progress.

Kolawole’s loyalty to former Governor Yahaya Bello has also remained unquestionable.

As one of Bello’s trusted political associates, he stood firmly with the former governor during and after his tenure, defending the achievements of the administration and promoting the continuity of its developmental vision for Kogi State.

Political analysts note that despite changing political circumstances and pressures that often accompany transitions in government, Kolawole never distanced himself from Bello’s political structure.

Rather, he remained actively involved in efforts aimed at preserving party unity and strengthening the APC across the state.

His support for Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo further demonstrates his belief in continuity and consolidation of governance.

From the build-up to the 2023 governorship election through the governor’s first year in office, Kolawole has consistently mobilized support for the administration, describing Ododo as a leader committed to sustaining the gains of the previous administration while introducing innovative policies to advance the state’s development.

Observers believe that Kolawole’s political conduct reflects a rare commitment to principles of loyalty, consistency, and party discipline.

While many politicians are often accused of pursuing personal interests above collective goals, the former Speaker has continued to align himself with the leadership of the APC at both state and national levels.

Supporters argue that his loyalty has contributed significantly to the cohesion of the ruling party in Kogi State, helping to bridge gaps among stakeholders and ensuring continued support for government programmes and policies.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, Matthew Kolawole’s unwavering allegiance to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, former Governor Yahaya Bello, and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo stands as a testament to his commitment to the APC family and the political ideals he has championed throughout his public service career.

For many within the party, his loyalty over the past three years serves as an example of political consistency and dedication to leadership, governance, and the pursuit of development for Kogi State and Nigeria as a whole.
