The wife of Kogi Governor, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, has urged the citizens to continue to pray for President Bola Tinubu and the state Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo to succeed in their efforts in bringing positive change and growth to the country and the state.

Mrs Ododo made the call during Dinner party, organised by her office in honour of her husband to celebrate his one year in office, on Monday at Banquet Hall, Government House Lokoja.

She encouraged the people to continue to offer prayer and support the governor and the President towards the development of the country and the state.

“I call on everyone to continue to pray for my husband’s success in transforming and developing the state, and empowering its people, especially the women.

“Let us join hands and work together as a family, and support his efforts in bringing positive change and growth to our dear state.

“I urge us to continue to pray for our Governor and President Bola Tinubu. Together, we shall build a more prosperous state and a great nation,” she said.

Mrs Ododo further appreciated the Nigeria’s First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu for being very supportive in her commitment to improving the livelihoods and well being of women and children in Kogi and Nigeria at large.

“We pray that the Almighty Allah will bless and protect our First Lady, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, in her efforts to better the lives of our women,” she said.

Earlier, the Secretary to Kogi State Government (SGS), Dr Folashade Ayoade, expressed her gratitude to the Almighty God for his grace and protection upon the Governor and the entire state for the past one year.

“We cannot thank God enough for His grace and mercy for the past one year

“We had 12 months of purposeful, exceptional and visionary governor, His Excellency, Gov. Ahmed Usman Ododo; we thank God for His divine grace,” Ayoade said.

The SGS commended the Kogi first lady for his passion for the less privilege, and for being very supportive to the Governor in driving his vision for the state.

Also speaking, the Director General, Kogi State Broadcasting Cooperation, Hajia Nana Yusuf, commended the governor for appoint her as the first woman to head the corporation in the history of the state.

She commended Her Excellency for being so passionate about women and children empowerment, and assured her of the full support of the corporation.

The highlights of the occasion was the cultural display, dancing, and cutting of the Anniversary cake.
