The Peoples Democratic Party has asked the Kogi State Commissioner of Finance, Hon. Idris Asiru to bury his head in shame for been the worst Finance Commissioner Kogi State has ever produced.

Kogi State Commissioner of Finance,

The party also stated that the state suffered the worst looting, and fretting away of resources accrued to the state with no visible project to show for it.

The Kogi State Chapter of the PDP stated this in a statement issued by Bode Ogunmola, while reacting to the call by Hon. Asiru for Public Debate with the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Kola Ologbondiyan on how the state’s finance was spent.

The PDP observed that rather than call for a debate, the state government under which Hon. Asiru serves as finance commissioner should point to project it claimed to have spent N61billion it says was monies accrued the state under the present administration.

The PDP described the present administration as a squandamania, having accessed N20billion bailout, first, second and third Paris club refunds, yet it could not pay arrears of workers, and the preceding months, leaving workers and pensioners owed for as much as twenty five months.

The PDP lamented that despite the receipt of N12billion infrastructure development funds of past administration, the administration without the House of Assembly approval allegedly collected another N10billion, this it said is aside loans it collected from commercial banks, making the state to be heavily indebted, yet has not commissioned any project in four years.

The PDP assured the Commissioner for finance to be aware that the day of reckoning when he would account for all the monies he aided the administration to collect is near, lamented that all the money which has translated into filling stations, Estates in Lokoja, and other parts of the country would be accounted for.

The statement said ” rather than bury your head in shame, and apologize to Kogi people for squandering the goodwill the Gov. Yahaya Bello’s administration fritted away, we are shocked that the Finance Commissioner would be talking of debate when he should speaking to projects initiated and completed by this administration ”

The PDP notes that it has many capable hands in the state who have at the tips of their palms monies the present administration has received on behalf of Kogi people, wondered why the CoF is seeking a debate with the NPS of the party when Kogi people know how much has been carted away by the privileged few in government.

The PDP called on the present administration to show what it has done in four years before asking for another term, pointing out that the forthcoming November governorship election has already been concluded, as the referendum, through public opinion has sacked the APC led administration already.

The PDP says having made Kogi people go through hell on earth in the last four years, with Kogi now the headquarters of poverty, kidnapping, armed robbery, predict a landslide victory for the party, asked the APC to begin to write its handing over notes and details of how it wasted the peoples common wealth amongst a few.
