Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Mopamuro Local Government Area of Kogi State have unanimously endorsed Hon. Olawumi Jacob as the party’s consensus candidate for the Mopamuro State Constituency.

The decision was reached at a stakeholders’ meeting held on Sunday, where party leaders gathered to strengthen unity, consolidate party structures, and chart a common course ahead of forthcoming political activities.

The meeting drew attendance from key figures within the party, including local government executives, members of the APC State Executive Committee from Mopamuro, ward chairmen across the ten wards, serving and former political office holders, as well as other stakeholders.

In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders said the adoption of Jacob as the consensus candidate reflected the collective will of the party leadership and members to ensure unity, stability, and electoral success.

They reaffirmed their commitment to the growth and continued dominance of the APC in Mopamuro, urging members to close ranks and work together in the overall interest of the party.

The stakeholders also directed party structures at both ward and local government levels to intensify grassroots mobilization in support of the consensus candidate, with the aim of securing victory in the forthcoming elections.

Reiterating their loyalty to the party’s leadership at both state and national levels, the stakeholders pledged to align with the vision and policies of the APC, while emphasizing the need for discipline and inclusiveness among members.

The meeting further commended one of the aspirants, Hon. Moses Sunday David Alumo, for accepting the consensus arrangement, describing his action as a demonstration of sportsmanship and commitment to party unity.

The endorsement, according to the communiqué, also received the backing of party elders in the local government area.

The meeting ended on a note of unity and renewed determination, with stakeholders expressing confidence that the consensus arrangement would strengthen the APC’s chances in the constituency.
