The Provost of Kogi State College of Education (KSCOE), Ankpa, Dr. Paul Femi Fashagba, has announced that certificates for graduates of the institution from 2016 to 2025 are now ready for collection after 10 years of delay.

Dr. Fashagba disclosed this while addressing journalists in Lokoja, stating that graduates from 2016 to 2020 are expected to collect their certificates between Monday, May 18 and June 1, 2026, while those who graduated between 2021 and 2025 will collect theirs from June 2 to June 15, 2026.

The Provost recalled that previous administrations had failed to make the certificates available, a development that subjected many graduates to hardship and sparked public outcry, especially on social media.

According to him, the media briefing became necessary to address the lingering certificate challenges that had plagued the institution for over a decade.

He noted that the prolonged delay in issuing certificates had caused frustration for many graduates seeking employment opportunities and further academic advancement.

Dr. Fashagba explained that upon assuming office, his administration took decisive steps to identify the root causes of the problem and restore confidence in the institution.

Part of the measures, he said, included consultations with relevant regulatory bodies, particularly the National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), to ensure that all procedures and standards were properly followed.

The Provost revealed that investigations by the college management showed that more than 4,000 graduates had not been issued their certificates over the years, adding that the certificates have now been printed, authenticated, and duly signed.

He stated that the management also constituted a committee to oversee the processing and issuance exercise in line with due process.

Dr. Fashagba assured that measures have been put in place to prevent future delays, stressing that certificates would henceforth be issued promptly to graduating students.

He therefore urged all affected graduates to take advantage of the opportunity to visit the college and collect their certificates, reaffirming the institution’s commitment to improved administrative efficiency and better service delivery.
