
Prince Abubakar Audu University (PAAU), Anyigba, has been thrown into mourning following the death of Professor Kennie Enojo Enojo, the Director of the Centre for Pre-Degree and Diploma Studies and a Professor of Political Economy.
Professor Enojo passed away in the early hours of Friday, August 7, 2026, after a prolonged illness, according to a statement issued by the University’s Public Relations Officer, Uredo Omale.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Salisu Ogbo Usman, described the late academic’s death as a painful and monumental loss to the institution, noting that his contributions to teaching, research and university administration would remain enduring.
He said Professor Enojo was a distinguished scholar, committed administrator and dedicated lecturer whose years of service were marked by excellence, diligence and unwavering commitment to the growth of the institution.
The Vice-Chancellor recalled that the late professor, fondly known as “The State,” devoted his career to advancing academic excellence and played significant roles in various scholarly and administrative responsibilities within the university.
Professor Usman extended his condolences to the bereaved family, the Department of Political Science, the Faculty of Social Sciences, the Centre for Pre-Degree and Diploma Studies, as well as colleagues, students, friends and associates of the deceased.
He prayed for God’s comfort for the family and the entire university community and asked for the peaceful repose of Professor Enojo’s soul.
Professor Kennie Enojo began his academic career at Prince Abubakar Audu University as a Graduate Assistant on November 1, 2002.
Through years of dedicated service, he rose through the academic ranks and was elevated to the rank of Professor by the University’s Governing Council on October 1, 2023.
