The Chief of Staff to Kogi State Governor, Chief Edward Onoja and three others have been arrested for allegedly attacking Mr. Usman Jibrin, a former Chief of Naval Staff and All Progressives Congress (APC) Kogi state governorship aspirant.

According to West Africa Reporters, Onoja was alleged to have led a team of three men, dressed in military uniform to Jibrin residence in Ayigba  where he was attacked.

A source who did not want his name mentioned, said the incident happens on Wednesday.

The Chief of staff a source said, was arrested by Nigeria navy together with the three others and were taken to Abuja, the Nigeria capital city.

They accused Jibrin of coming out to contest against Mr. Yahaya Bello, the incumbent Governor.

Edward was quoted to have said Bello is the only candidate known to APC and no one can challenge him.

The Chief of staff and three other men were caught in video footage carrying out attacks on the APC aspirant.

Insider source from Kogi state government house who could not immediately confirm the arrest, say they have not heard from the Chief of staff for the past three days.

There is an unconfirmed rumour that two of the men have been killed.

Our reporter could not immediately reach out to Kogi state government for official response.
