As Christians around the globe celebrate yet another Christmas which commemorated the birthday of Jesus Christ -the savior of the world, kogi State chairman of Nigeria Union of Pensioners, Engr. Clement Otori Ohida has extended his felicitation, on behalf of the senior citizens to the chief servant of Kogi State, Alhaji Ahmed Usman, Comrade Joel Oyibo Salifu, his deputy, Christians and none Christians alike on yuletide festival.
In a felicitation message which was made available to media houses in Lokoja, kogi State capital, Engr. Ohida, described Christmas as an occasion to spread the good news of the teachings and practices of Christ which characterised love, peace, tolerance, forgiveness, sacrifice and sharing that formed the basis of His coming to the world.
” His birth brought redeemtion, taking away the burden of sins, reconcile mankind to God because there’s no more third party before encountering with God and His grace abound around those who trust in and have confidence in Him.
Engr. Ohida availed himself with the apple opportunity to see this season as a time of deep sober reflection and reinforces their strong faith in God their supplications for Him to intervane in the current nadir of human quagmire and insecurity that have beleaguered the country.
According to the kogi State boss of Pensioners, the best time to pray, demonstrate unfeigned support and unwavering collaboration with those in positions of Authorities is now as their continues prayers is germane to enable them think aright to formulate viable policies and programmes that will catapult the nation to an enviable heights.
Engr. Ohida, however used the opportunity to shower encomiums on the state governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo for taking practical steps to address the pain citizens passes through especially the retirees saying that the Governor needed the prayers, unfeigned support to enable him to do more for the state.
Ohida, use the apple opportunity to send this strong message to both state and local government Pensioners that went through this year’s Biometric Verification Implementation, as from September Payment, it was observed that a good number of Pensioners did not shown up to update their records as window of grace is given till the last working day of the year before such Pensioners are declare “‘Ghost Pensioners” and their names would be removed from Payroll.
While wishing the Christians and non Christians alike a merry Christmas and a prosperous new year ahead, Engr. Ohida, admonishes celebrants to allow the teachings and practices Of Jesus Christ to guide their daily life.
