The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kogi chapter and some residents of the state have expressed sadness over the death of Prophet Temitope Joshua, Founder of the Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) on Sunday.
The Chairman of CAN in Kogi, Bishop John Ibenu, told newsmen on Monday in Lokoja, that the association was saddened over the demise of the prophet.
”We are saddened with the death of Prophet TB Joshua; our condolences to his wife, family and church members. May God guide them as they move forward”, he said.
According to Ibenu, prophet TB Joshua spoke for Jesus Christ, stood his ground and died in the service of God and he is now with God.
”God used him perfectly to impact many lives; but no one is perfect. May God console his wife and give the prophet eternal rest”, he said.
Some residents in their separate interviews with our correspondent said the news of Joshua’s death was a rude shock to them and beyond their imaginations.
Mr Isaiah Felix a politician, said the news of the prophet’s demise was unbelievable because he never expected it.
”Honestly, I never expected it for a prophet of his calibre, but well, we only pray for the living.
”Prophet T.B Joshua has tried, he has fulfilled his ministry. The only thing is that we would have loved him to still be alive because of his antecedents.
”He is a man of vision and we will miss him. He is a man of calling and he gives alot and freely without hesitating
”May God console his church members, and may his soul rest in perfect peace”, Felix said.
Another resident, Adeniyi Ayinmode, the Managing Director of Abe-Igi Oreofe, Lokoja, said prophet TB Joshua was a very nice man and a philanthropist.
Ayinmode said that his demise was a rude shock to him and beyond his comprehension where he heard the sad news.
”Whatever we are doing in life, we must fear God and know what God is in our individual life.
”Whatever you do in your lifetime, will speak after you when you are gone. People have been saying how nice the prophet was, and I am impressed with it.
”But the way he died is a fantastic death, I wish God should help me to die the way prophet TB Joshua died; to just sleep and go and meet my God.
”I pray that God Almighty will console his family and the church he left behind”, Ayinmode said.
Mrs Joy Ogu, a resident of Adankolo in Lokoja, said she was yet to come to term with the news of the prophet’s death as it was beyond her imagiation.
”The news of the sudden death of Prophet T.B Joshua have thrown many of us into confusion, because we still find it very difficulty to believe.
”He was a man of love that practiced what he preached, a philanthropist that never discriminate.
”We loved him but God loves him most, and has decided to take him away from us. May his soul rest in peace”, Ogu said.
A cleric, Pastor Samuel Olode, described Prophet Joshua as rugged man of God with undying heart for the less privileged.
”Though his demise was a rude shock to many of us, but we cannot query God. He giveth and he taketh as He pleases.
”There is time for everything under the sun; Prophet Joshua has finished his race well, and he is now with the Lord for eternal rest”, the cleric said.
