Following attack and killing of three Police officers on police patrol team along Okoloke-Pategi road, in Egbe by some unknown gunmen on Wednesday, the Kogi State Police Commissioner, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, has tasked the Deputy Commissioner of Police, investigation department to commence investigation into the incident.
The State Command Police Public Relations Officer SP William Ayah in a statement issued and made available to newsmen, said, “Wednesday 10th September, 2025, the command received the unfortunate report of attack on the patrol team at pin down point along Okoloke-Pategi road Egbe. The hoodlums emerged from the bush and attacked the team when they arrived for their routine patrol.
“Consequent on the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc has ordered the deployment of tactical team comprising police mobile force, counter-terrorism unit, anti-kidnapping, intelligence and quick response units in working synergy with other security agencies to restore normalcy in the area and trail the hoodlums with a view to apprehend and bring them to book.
“Meanwhile, the command lost three of its officers during the attack before the reinforced team arrived at the scene, while the attackers fled.
“The CP further tasked the deputy commissioner of police, investigation department to commence investigation into the incident.
“The CP calls on the good people of the area to assist the police with credible information on the identity of the hoodlums to enable the police trail and apprehend them.
