The Clerk, Kogi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Ibrahim Amoka has presented a motorcycle to a Staff, Mr. Onotu Egidi for a more effective service delivery.
The Clerk while presenting the motorcyle to the staff in his maiden meeting with the management and staff of the House of Assembly held at the Assembly Complex , Lokoja charged them to be dedicated to duty and avoid any acts that are counter productive.
Alhaji Amoka warned the Staff against lateness to work, truancy, indolence and other tendencies capable of negating the efforts of the present administration in making the State workforce one of the best in the Country.
According to him, efforts are being made to improve their means of movement to and fro the Assembly, assuring that training and re-training of staff would receive attention to enhance capacity and higher productivity.
He revealed that a Staff Monitoring Unit would be created to check the conduct of Staff to be headed by the Deputy Clerk, Mr. Emmanuel Apeh,pointing out that plans are on to initiate an annual productive awards for hard working Staff.
Alhaji Amoka charged them on the need to respect and support constituted Authority and admonished them on the need to discharge their duties with the best of their ability.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Alhaji Abdulmalik Andas emphasized the need for total commitment of staff to duty pointing out that Government desire was to have a dedicated and productive work force that would be a pride to all.
Alhaji Abdulmalik urged them to be punctual to work at all times and desist from behaviors that are inimical to the progress of the Assembly and the
State in general.
While highlighting the Commission’s
Statutory functions to the staff, the Chairman promised that their welfare remains a priority and enjoined them to avoid unruly behavior or be ready to face disciplinary action.
According to him, the commission has the responsibility to monitor them and that it will do so religiously to ensure compliance at their places of work.
The Commission Chairman revealed that staff who work hard will enjoy the benefits inherent in the service, noting that Governor Yahaya Bello’s desire to leave behind a dedicated and vibrant civil service will be strictly adhered to by the Commission and urged them to keep faith with the current Government New Direction Agenda.
Alhaji Andas enjoined them to always pray for the State Governor and his team for wisdom,Allah protection good and sound health to enable him actualise his lofty programs for the State.
The meeting was attended by the Secretary of Kogi State House of Assembly Service Commission, Comrade Yemisi Maiye and top management staff of the Assembly Service Commission.
