A support group loyal to Senator Sunday Steve Karimi has dismissed the purported endorsement of Hon. Samuel Bamidele Aro as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kogi West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement signed by the State Coordinator of KPSF, Sani Philips, the group described the endorsement reportedly made by some political appointees under the banner of “Kogi APC Stakeholders” as self-serving and lacking legitimacy.
The group said the endorsement was not the first of its kind, alleging that similar declarations had previously been made in favour of a preferred aspirant.
According to the statement, the repeated endorsements were signs of fear and panic among those behind the move, insisting that the APC had yet to conduct its primary election for the senatorial seat.
The group maintained that no individual could legitimately claim the party’s ticket before the official primary process.
It therefore urged supporters of Senator Karimi to remain calm and steadfast, expressing confidence that the political process would be transparent and guided by due process.
“Relax! God is in control,” the statement added.
