The former acting Governor of Kogi State Chief Clarence Olafemi has advocated that the next House of Representative position for Yagba federal constituency should be allowed to come from Mopamuro in the interest of equity, fairness and justice.

Chief Olafemi who is also the former Speaker of Kogi State House of Assembly stated this on Tuesday while interacting with journalists in Lokoja.

He said the Yagba federal constituency consist of Yagba, east, Yagba west and Mopa-muro, noting that both Yagba east and west have enjoyed their share of representation at the National Assembly, saying it is now the turn of Mopa-muro to produce the next House of Representative.

Chief Olafemi however maintained that Hon. Leke Abejide has occupied the position twice concurrently under ADC, lamenting that canvassing for him to re-contest by five local government chairmen of APC from Kogi west amount to anti-party.

“Leke Abejide has done two tenure, he should also support the agitation that the position move to another area. Hon. Faniyi who is from the same place with Leke occupied the position once while Leke Abejide have enjoyed it twice, making it thrice from the same area, so let it move to Mopa-muro who only occupied the position once”.

He appealed to the Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo not to have hand in that type of atrocities against APC in the state, noting that those members who stood by the APC when the party was not strong should be recognized and be given opportunity to contest and win elections under the party.

“We are appealing to the Executive Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo not to have hand in that type of atrocities against APC in the state.

“Those who stood by the party when the party did not have base , but they stay in the party and build it, and nurture it to the stage and level the party has reached today should be giving chance to contest and win elections in the spirit of fairness and inclusiveness” he stated.

Speaking further, the former governor, said anti-party is not limited to any categories of membership, stressing that anti-party at the executive level posed danger to the party.
