The Odaje Asi of Aika Ezeolu Kingdom in Delta State, Chief Chuks Udeme, has appealed to Attah Igala, Dr Idakwo Ameh Oboni II to visit Igala territories outside Kogi State.
Udeme, who represented the Akor of Aika Ezeolu Kingdom, HRM Akor E. C. Obiechina, made the appeal when he led a delegation of Igalas from Aika Ezeolu, Ndokwa East local government area of Delta state to the 2020 Igala National Congress in Idah.
He stated that the visit of Attah to Igalas outside Kogi state will speed up the networking of all Igala people across the world as well as solidifying their already reestablished connection.
He added that the royal visit will also send important message of unity to Igalas worldwide.
In his respond, the monarch stated that the long separation between the Attah and his people outside Kogi state was like a mother who gave birth to the children and later abandoned them.
He explained that it was due to the fact that the locations of Igalas outside Kogi state were not known until the recent discoveries of their spread across 28 states of Nigeria.
He assured that he will soon start visiting all Igala territories across Nigeria, including those in the remotest locations.
A recent discovery by Ambassador Ayegba Abdullahi Aduojoh revealed that indigenous Igala people are in twenty eight states of Nigeria and also in about twelve countries outside Nigeria.
The Igala National Congress 2020, which was held on Saturday, February 15 at the Attah Igala’s palace, Idah, Kogi state, had in attendance some indigenous Igala people from Delta, Enugu, Nasarawa and Edo states including the Federal Capital Territory. They were joined by Igalas in the Eastern and Central senatorial districts of Kogi state.
Ayegba Aduojoh delivered a lecture on ‘Igala; The Giant of Nigeria. He also presented his book detailing locations of Igala people in Nigeria and beyond.
There was a presentation on ‘Itsekiri-Igala Relationship and Their Egyptian Antecedents – A Scientific Perspective’ by Augustine Oghanrandukun.
