The Kogi State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Engr. Sam Uhotu says he would continue to advocate for the improvement in the well-being of the lives of the people, lamented that the people as priority has been relegated in governance.
Engr. Sam Uhotu, gave the assurances at the funeral and thanksgiving service held in honor of Late Barr. Michael Taiwo Kola Ojo, Vice Chairman PDP West Senatorial District.
Engr. Uhotu described the late PDP Vice Chairman as a man who’s concern was the well being of the people, described him as a grassroots mobilizer, loved by all those he worked with.
Engr. Uhotu described late Barr. Kola Ojo as a good team player and party man who will be greatly missed by the PDP in the state, said the party is consoled by his legacies of impact.
Engr Uhotu observed that the party would continue to work for the interest of the people, said that was what the late PDP West Vice Chairman represent, described the late Barr. Kola Ojo as a man of the people
Earlier in a sermon, Rev’d Asubiaro Abel, Ebute Meta DCC Chairman of ECWA Church, called on government to Show responsibility, and order the stoppage of the killings of innocent Nigerians to show that he is incharge and President for all and not for a few.
The clergy man lamented that rather than think of the growth of the nation, Nigerians have concerned themselves with what is divisive and not about growth and development.
While describing the country as unsafe to live in, Rev’d Abel described death as a necessary end for all mortals, says while everyone born into the world has his name written down in a book, however said only few are privileged to have their names written in the book of Life.
He bemoaned the level of sin in the lives of the people, lamented that those in positions of authorities rather than make the people their priority have choosen to make their personal pockets and accounts their gods.
He decried the state of the nation’s roads, described it as death traps, said the security agencies in the country have lost every sense of responsibility to protect the citizens, urged for a change of heart.
Rev’d Abel urged Nigerians to make the book of Life, where only those who are righteous and live lives worthy of emulation would have their names found in it.
