Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Ododo, has congratulated the newly elected National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and other members of the party’s National Working Committee (NWC) following their emergence at the party’s National Convention held in Abuja.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Ismaila Isah, Governor Ododo described the convention as a significant milestone for the APC, saying it demonstrated the party’s unity, strength and commitment to democratic values.

He noted that the peaceful and consensus-driven emergence of the new leadership reflected the maturity and resilience of the ruling party as it seeks to consolidate on its achievements.

According to the governor, the smooth and rancour-free conduct of the convention was made possible by the commitment of party leaders and stakeholders across the country.

Ododo said the election of the new party officials into key positions showed a collective resolve to strengthen the APC, accommodate diverse interests within the party and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The governor also commended President Tinubu for what he described as an impressive performance in office, saying the administration’s achievements had continued to attract more Nigerians to the APC.

He said the Tinubu administration had recorded progress in economic reforms, infrastructure development, fiscal restructuring, national security and food security through inclusive development policies.

Governor Ododo described the removal of fuel subsidy and the unification of the foreign exchange system as bold but necessary measures that were beginning to reposition Nigeria’s economy for long-term growth and stability.

He further praised the Federal Government’s investments in infrastructure, education and social intervention programmes, noting that they were laying the foundation for inclusive development despite the prevailing economic challenges.

“I rate President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s performance highly for the courage, vision and determination to take difficult but transformative decisions in the interest of Nigeria,” the governor stated.

Ododo also lauded the president for sustaining unity within the APC through strong leadership that has continued to stabilise and strengthen the party at all levels.

He urged the newly elected NWC members to justify the confidence reposed in them by promoting inclusiveness, transparency and dedication in the discharge of their responsibilities.

The governor prayed for wisdom, strength and a successful tenure for the new party officials, while reaffirming his administration’s commitment to working with the APC leadership to advance the aspirations of Nigerians.
