Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, representing Kabba/Bunu State Constituency, Rt Hon Prince Matthew Kolawole has said that Governor Yahaya Bello will have a landslide victory in the November, 2019 Governorship Election in the State.
Prince Kolawole who was reelected as a member of the state House of Assembly made this known while addressing newsmen in Lokoja.
According to him, the results of the just concluded Presidential, National Assembly and State Assembly Elections in the state has shown clearly that the All Progressive Congress APC is fully in charge of the state.
He said the outstanding performance of the party in the elections is not without the concerted efforts of the youngest Governor in Nigeria to reposition the state for rapid development.
He said the doggedness and determination of Alhaji Yahaya Bello to right the wrongs of his predecessors in the state are yielding fruits, noting that another 4 years of the administration will consolidate on his monumental achievements recorded in the last three and half years.
He said despite the party’s loss of one senatorial and two house of representatives seats in Kogi West, the people are more determined now to vote massively for Governor Yahaya Bello having realised his heart of love for them.
He noted that those who deceived the people to vote against the APC are already regretting their actions because their targets were not met, since the APC still maintained the majority at both the higher and lower chamber of the National Assembly aside the fact that, at the state level, the party has 25/25 at the State Assembly.
He used the occasion to congratulate Governor Yahaya Bello, Chief David Edward Onoja and the entire new direction team for the success recorded in the just concluded 2019 General Elections in the state.
He also commended the efforts of the traditional rulers in Okunland under the leadership of His Royal Majesty, Oba Solomon Dele Owoniyi, Obaro of Kabba and Chairman, Okun Area Traditional Council in maintaining peace before, during and after the elections in their various domains.
He appreciated the electorate for keeping faith with the All Progressive Congress (APC) by voting massively for the party across the state in the elections.
He promised that the Kogi State House of Assembly under his watch will sustain the harmonious relationship with the executive for the rapid development of the state.
Prince Matthew Kolawole is one of the lawmakers that was reelected for the second term on the 9th March, 2019
